World Karate Championship
Hayashi-Ha World Karate Championships, Barcelona, Spain, 2008

Everybody trained so hard, day in, day out!

We had a tremendous team, karateka and parents. Our guys were brilliant! I'm proud of each and every one of them. Michael Stevenson came back with a bronze, which was an amazing achievement, considering he was up against the worlds best!

I would like to congratulate all our karateka who made the journey to Barcelona. They, as usual behaved Impeccably, and showed tremendous spirit. I know they are all looking forward to the next world championships!

A special thankyou to Sensei Sandra Ingham, who ran backwards and forwards the whole time we were there, organising and making sure everyone was where they should be, when they should be. Sensei Ingham was amazing inside the stadium, but it was her husband, Gerry Ingham, who shone outside the stadium! Fortunately for us, Gerry was there to guide us around Barcelona, we behaved like a lost flock of sheep! Thanks Gerry.

The parents who travelled were amazing, supporting everyone of our competitors throughout the weekend.

I hope everyone enjoyed the championships, as soon as I know the details, I will post the next world karate championship details (2012).
