They have been training for years and preparing for months, the big day has come!

Run 12 Noon

This is where the preperation shows, the karateka that have prepared, easily complete the run and it really is a warm up for the big day. It's just a few miles, completed at the karateka's own pace.

This year we staggered the start of the run and half way through they demonstarted the Yamani Ryu Bo kata,Choun No Kon.

Karate Physical

The main karate exam started with kihon, from single techniques to combinations from ju kamae. These basics were repeated many times at full speed. All Kata were demonstarted, kihon kata, heian shodan, nidan, sandan, yondan and godan, tekki shodan, bassai dai, jion, empi, kanku dai, hangetsu. Seipai was extra ciriculum. All karateka also chose a favourite kata.

Sanbon kumite, ippon kumite, ju ippon kumite, one for one and jui kumite were all demonstarted on the day.

We are really proud of everyone who attempts the black belt grading, irrespective of results.

In my eyes, everyone was a winner on this day, even the few who were not quite successful.
